Eye Examinations:

When most people think of a vision test, they usually think of reading letters on an eye chart. However, this is only a small part of what we do. Not only do we test your vision, but your eyes are examined both externally and internally. We examine for cataracts and glaucoma, as well as many other conditions affecting your eyes.

Because your eyes may not be irritating you, even when something serious is wrong, it’s important to have them checked regularly. That is why we encourage all of our patients to have their eyes thoroughly examined once a year. We think you eyesight it is important. Therefore, we want to keep your vision sharp and your eyes healthy.

In the eyecare profession, as in most sciences, dramatic changes seem to occur almost weekly as new techniques and materials are developed. At our office, we are committed to staying abreast of the latest techniques and scientific advances in eye care. This enables us to guarantee that we are doing all we can to correct and preserve your vision.

We use state-of-the-art equipment, such as the air puff tonometer, to ensure that you receive the most thorough eye examination available. At Village Optics, we place great value on each persons individual needs. Contact Lenses

Contact lenses correct many of the same vision problems as eyeglasses including Nearsightedness, Farsightedness,  Astigmatism, and even for loss of near focusing ability.

The main type are soft lenses!
They are almost always disposable………Daily, BiWeekly, or Monthly.
Most lenses are single vision.   Meaning they correct your distance vision.
Lenses to correct astigmatism (toric) are balanced so they do not rotate and come in all modalities (even daily disposable)
Multifocal lenses are distance AND reading lenses to correct Presbyopia (the loss of focusing ability with age.
Except for daily disposable, all contact lenses must be removed and cleaned each night.
